Elections

[edit]

Hi Zeta how can I support as elections volunteer! Ruby D-Brown (talk) 11:03, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you @Ruby D-Brown: for reaching out. Which of the Wiki projects will you like to serve as Election volunteer for? Zuz (WMF) (talk) 10:08, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Enwiki

[edit]

Hello. I've disabled an abuse filter on enwiki so you can create your local account (I get an enormous amount of abuse on enwiki). You should probably head over there as soon as you can so I can re-enable it. It may be a good idea, if possible, to mention on your local userpage (or talk page) that you are not me. And if there's ever any problem feel free to give me a shout. Happy editing. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:10, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Zzuuzz:, thank you! Unfortunately I am experiencing an IP block when I try to create an account on enwiki.Zuz (WMF) (talk) 11:29, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
OK, well you were also being stopped by the filter. And I can't create your local account for you because a global filter is preventing me doing that. I can see two options, unless you can change IP: I can locally unblock your IP (this might not end up being very private), or you can ask a steward to override the global filter. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:47, 18 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Movement Charter Translation Grant FAQ

[edit]

Are Election Volunteers eligible to apply? Yes, Election Volunteers are eligible to apply. And all who are not election volunteers but can translate into a different language are also eligible to apply.

Are all the languages (7000) eligible? Or is there some kind of list of accepted languages? By default, all languages are eligible. But since it is a grant this needs to be managed case by case. That is why you need to contact us first.

Any limitations on countries of the participating Wikimedian's residence? As to funding, usual WMF grant allocation rules apply, so indeed there are countries that are ineligible for funding, because of funding regulations, sanctions, etc. Unfortunately, this is the case for the countries you have listed. We are unable to transfer funds to Russia, Belarus, Turkey and Central Asia. Zuz (WMF) (talk) 10:01, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
