WikiAlumni

WikiAlumni is a student-run network that was started to keep students who previously used and edited Wikipedia in college classroom, GLAM, or other academic settings to continue connections with Wikipedia and its communities. These students will serve as mentors to new students that are currently taking Wikipedia project classes. WikiAlumni connects new and experienced students to the wiki world.

Mission

Why we exist, what do we want to accomplish?
At LaGuardia Community College (CUNY), students and faculty have been working on Wikipedia GLAM and classroom projects since 2014. After transferring or graduating, students wanted to continue working with the Wikipedia community - presenting at conferences, serving as trainers at edit-a-thons, translate-a-thons, pop-ups - and find ways of introducing new generations of students to this work.
