Translation to reduce the language gap and grow communities.
- Abstract ملخص
Content translation has been used to create more than half a million Wikipedia articles. The tool has successfully helped translators to be more productive while ensuring good quality content is created. However, the language gap is still large for many communities, limiting the knowledge that people can access depending on the language they speak. We plan to focus on smaller communities to encourage the use of translation and support new ways to translate (including ideas such as expanding existing articles by translating sections on mobile). In this talk we'll present the impact Content translation had so far, our initial ideas about how to expand its potential, and look for feedback about ideas on how translation can better support your wiki.
