[edit]- Moderator
- Participants
- Kuhu Tanvir, Editor, Wide Screen journal of screen studies and MPhil student (JNU), New Delhi (will talk on women in Indian cinema and how they are represented on wikipedia)
- Sucheta Ghoshal, student, Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Kolkata

- Harriet Vidyasagar, Mangalore. Managing Editor Out of India and Founder: Women of India
The panel consists of students, academics, and researchers - some of whom are contributors to wikipedia. It explores firsthand the experiences of women who edit wikipedia in English and indic languages, and tries to understand how 'gender' is a significant factor affecting this experience. Do women contributors necessarily - or always - have different experiences from male contributors? What's similar? What's different? What can be attributed to gender? What can not? How will having more women editors shape wikipedia's content? The panelists will identify barriers and generate ideas to increase the number of women who are contributing to the wikimedia projects.
