Abstract/description of your session[edit]

Wikidata is a multilingual free knowledge base that can be read and edited by humans were the data is added by a community of volunteers both manually and by using software, much like other Wikimedia projects including Wikipedia. Data from Wikidata is used by many websites including Wikipedia. Institutions, organizations, and individuals who are interested in adding data to Wikidata can donate the data to WIkidata.

How does it connect with the WCI 2023 theme/focus[edit]

Share the ideas and experiences with each other how contributing to Wikidata helps other Wikimedia projects and communities.

At the end of the session, the participants would learn how their contribution to Wikidata helps other Wikimedia projects and bridge the gaps between these Wikimedia projects. This knowledge could be useful for the participants to contribute to Wikidata and apply use cases in their local/home Wikiprojects.
