Welcome! We are excited to see you submitting a session. The WikiConference Nigeria is scheduled to be held between 12 - 15 September, 2024 in the City of Abuja, Nigeria. The call for session submissions will open from 11 June 2024, until 12 July 2024.

About Sessions

This Maiden Edition themed: Empowering Knowledge Equity: Building a Stronger Nigerian Wikimedia Community, aims to build connections across interests, and ideas and identify requirements that are critical to the success of our movement in our region. All the sessions are divided into five different sub-themes: Diversity Collaboration Technology Language Engagement & Growth We invite you to tailor your proposal within the above listed scope.!. If you want to bring your community work to the spotlight or present your learning/experiences to other communities, then you are on the right page. Please go through the below sections to understand and submit your session proposal for WikiConference India 2023.

Session formats

The sessions at the conference will be organized in several formats for better interactivity and an inclusive experience. We have five types of session formats and you can choose any session format depending on your interest. Below are the types of session formats.

• Short presentation/Lightning talk (5-15 mins)
• Presentation/Lecture (15-30 mins)
• Panel discussions (45-60 mins)
• Roundtable (1 hour)

Details required

If you are interested to submit a session at WikiConference Nigeria 2024, you will be required to fill out a comprehensive form that will help the team review your session proposal. Following are the details requested in the form.

• Name (First & Last Name)
• Wikimedia Username
• Email
• Phone Number (WhatsApp preferably)
• Title of proposal
• Authors/Usernames of presenters
• Type of Submission (Roundtable, Panel, Presentation)
• Theme of proposal
• Abstract of proposal
• Special requirements for presentation
• Expected outcomes of the proposal
