WikiForHumanRights in Kerala, India
The WikiForHumanRights in Kerala, India is a volunteer initiative of keralites with the goal of ensuring that everyone has access to neutral, fact-based, and up-to-date information about our Right to a Healthy Environment. This is in support of the Global WikiForHumanRights Campaign.
Background
As part of the WikiForHumanRights event, Wikipedia training workshops will be organized for participants working in the field of biodiversity, the environment, and human rights in Malayalam community. The workshop will be complemented by a photography and editing contest to create and improve articles and encourage Wikimedians to write about human rights to a healthy environment. The list of items to be created or upgraded will be provided by the organizing team.
Objectives
- Train Environmental Activists, Students and people passionate about climate change about contributing to Wikimedia projects.
- Try to fill the content gap about climate change topics on the Wikimedia projects
- Encourage photographers to contribute to Commons about Climate Change pictures.
Expectations
- The participants will be the theme Wiki Human Rights to a healthy environment.
- 25 Wikipedia articles or improve on the topic Wiki Human rights to a healthy environment
- 50 items added/modified on wikidata on the topic Wiki Human Rights to a Healthy Environment
- 2 articles translated into local languages
