In collaboration with Wikimedia France and Wikimedia Switzerland, WikiFranca offers all contributors to Wikimedia projects a grant service (also called "micro-financing") to help them with their contributions.
What to ask for?
A reference book to enrich Wikipedia or Commons legends, reimbursement for a trip to take photos or interview personalities... provided that:
- your budget, clearly detailed, less than or equal to €1 for requests from individuals and a maximum of €2 for requests from groups and legal entities);
- your need is justified, for example “the requested reference book cannot be borrowed from your library”;
- spending helps you contribute;
- you agree to provide feedback on your use of funding, for example, a detailed and public account, a list of enriched articles or a Commons category.
Who can apply?
Anyone can apply, or almost anyone! Micro-financing is open to all contributors to French-speaking and French-language Wikimedia projects (including Commons and Wikidata) — there is no requirement to be a WikiFranca member to obtain funding. WikiFranca members can also contact the referents for assistance in their efforts. If in doubt or if you still have questions, contact the commission directly at microfi-wikifranca

How to ask? Some tips
To help the committee respond easily, please make your request as clear as possible.
When submitting your request, first provide the reasons and context for your request. If it is for an event, please provide some details to understand the context.
Regarding the budget itself, please provide details. For example, if you are requesting a travel budget for multiple people making multiple trips, indicate how many people are covered and for which trips ("round trip, from home to the event venue, for both trainers").
If you are requesting to purchase items, please provide a link to the service you are considering using for this sale, including their pricing, if possible.
