What?[edit]

WikiGap Challenge Sudan 2021 is a public writing competition to create and improve articles to strengthen Wikipedia's coverage of women and related topics into as many languages as possible, including the languages for Wikipedias in the Wikimedia incubator. The Challenge is organized as part of the global WikiGap campaign under the Theme Human Rihgts Defenders.

When?[edit]

The writing challenge will run from 00:01 on 8 February (CET UTC+01:00) until 23:59 on 8 March 2021 (CET UTC+01:00). Monday 31 March is the International Women's Day.

How?[edit]

The contest is simple in structure, you get points while improving or writing articles on Wikipedia, with the goal for each participant to gain as many points as possible. But before, please fill in this [1].

Who?[edit]

Everybody can help in any language to collaborate on writing and/or translating the articles related to Tunisian women. Any Wikipedian who is interested in adding Sudanese content with a named account (on any wiki, including the incubator) can participate. To participate you just need to fill the form and we will give you information how you successfully can participate.

Why?[edit]

The contest is organized by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs(ref) and Wikimedia Sverige, with support from Swedish embassies, and Wikimedia Sudan across the world. Wikipedia is missing articles about Sudanese Women and and through this contest we hope to improve articles around women in General and Sudanese Women. Improving Wikipedia's articles on women is important to fill the Gap in information about the people that have helped form our world.
