Reflecting on my experience at Wiki Indaba Morocco, it marked my inaugural attendance at an international wiki meetup, bringing me immense joy as I had the opportunity to meet individuals whom I had previously only interacted with virtually. The event’s program was notably engaging, featuring sessions crafted to empower community members with knowledge applicable to the development and engagement of their respective communities. One session that particularly captured my interest focused on the African Agenda, delving into discussions about the future of Africa and the opportunities that Africans stand to gain through this initiative.

What significant learning or outcome do you take away from your participation?

The Wiki Indaba 2023 event in Morocco-Agadir stands out as a significant milestone for me, not only in terms of expanding my in-person social and community engagement skills through networking with other communities but also in gaining insightful knowledge shared among participants

What impact the conference had on you and community plans, and what actions will you undertake to share learnings with your community?

The conference left a lasting impact on both myself and our community plans, providing valuable insights into the African Agenda, community dynamics, and engagement strategies. Moving forward, we plan to share these learnings through dedicated episodes of the Wiki Update Podcast, ensuring our existing audience gains firsthand knowledge. Beyond the podcast, we are committed to extending these insights to the broader open movement in Ghana through workshops, online platforms, and collaborative initiatives. Our goal is to create a collective learning space and contribute to the growth and enrichment of our community and the wider open movement.

I appreciate the opportunity to share my feedback and extend congratulations to the organizers for orchestrating an outstanding event in Agadir. Nevertheless, I look forward to the possibility of engaging and meeting up once again in South Africa if granted the opportunity. The event was truly inspiring, and I am eager to continue participating in such impactful gatherings. Thank you for the excellent work in bringing the community together.
