| Abstract:
Malta is a small island nation located just 284km east of Tunisia, and 333km north of Libya. It is located in the Mediterranean sea in a zone which is further south than the northern-most coast of Africa. Parts of its history are connected to northern Africa and now a growing percentage of the population consists of immigrants from Africa. Malta is a member state of the European Union and as such provides an opportunity for a cultural bridge between the two continents. How is this reflected in the Wikimedia projects? This workshop aims to explore intercultural dialogues between African affiliates and the Malta Wikimedia affiliate towards a broadening of understandings of Africa in Europe and vice versa. |
