Abstract: Over the past editions, organizing the national edition for Wiki Loves Monuments in Nigeria has been technically easy to implement. However, in a country that has evolved and grown to accommodate different Wikimedia communities, a gap has surfaced, in that every edition has the same contributors joining in the competition, resulting in almost the same winners. This creates an interesting challenge for organizers, as they need to ensure adequate inclusion for all communities so that the contribution to Wiki Loves Monuments from is not restricted to just a few locations and few contributors/winners but to diverse locations and new contributors/winners- hence the need for this session. How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region? This session would help increase the Wiki Loves Monuments awareness among the African Wikimedians. * It will also proffer important insights that would help organizers of Wiki Loves Monuments to ensure documentation * It will also shed more insights in the dynamics of organizing Wiki Loves Monuments in African countries with different Wikimedia communities for wider coverage. * It would equip Wiki Loves Monuments organizers in the African Wikimedia communities with a new and strategic approach to ensure there’s room for new comers and new submissions.
