The African creative industry is booming with lots of creative works and intellectual property focusing on the African society, culture and experiences. Sadly, much of these content are not easily available or visible online and on Wikis, like the Wikimedia projects (Wikipedia, Wikisource, WikiNews etc), owing to copyright protection issues. This lecture gives insight on the Creative Commons License which is not popularly used in African content. It focuses on what this licensing is about, and how content producers in African can adopt it in their commercial works, to enable them to easily be published for non commercial use on Wikimedia projects
