Unseen is a Wikimedia Foundation project collaborating with AfroCROWD to help identify unillustrated biographies of Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour historical figures, volunteers to research community archives for further knowledge about those historical figures and artists from the same regions around the world as those historical figures to redraw history; bringing the likeness of unseen individuals in the histories of underrepresented people onto their Wikipedia biographies, to be seen by all. Unseen is collaborating with a community of over 10 million creatives to amplify this knowledge gap by making it visible and is celebrating the volunteers that are working to close those gaps through their contributions to Wikimedia Projects. |
