Research standards (ethics)[edit]
Having learned all about how to search for sources and find your information, it is important to turn our attention to the other side of research: namely, research standards. The information the students have found can be used by the students in their article, but with that comes a certain standard. One cannot simply copy the creations of someone else. In this step, the students learn about the key rules that surround research, specifically, plagiarism and citation.
It is important to note that there is a difference in the use of citations. It can differ from language to language on Wikipedia, and also depending on the type of research being carried out. You can find the citation standards for the English language Wikipedia below; when writing for a Wikipedia in a different language, you can find the citation standards published on the relevant Wikipedia, just type it into the search bar or reach out to your local Wikimedia team for help.

Classroom Exercises[edit]
Let the students pick some sources at random from the school library and compile a bibliography in the Wikipedia format and/or in APA or another citation style.
