Wiki Loves Folklore 2021 in Italy
Wiki Loves Folklore is an international Wikipedia contest organized by the Wikimedia community to document cultures in different regions of the world with emphasize on theme of folk culture. This project page focuses on articles written on the topic on Wikipedia in different languages. A parallel photo contest is organized on Wikimedia Commons Folklore theme). Sub themes are : folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folklore and tradition, including: ballads, folktales, fairy tales, legends, traditional song and dance, folk plays, games, seasonal events, calendar customs, folk arts, folk religion, mythology etc.

WikiDonne contests
[edit]In addition to the main contests in Wikipedia and Commons, WikiDonne User Group is organizing two additional sub contests
- Wikipedia contest in Italian Wikipedia: folklore as main contest, with additional points for women in folklore articles. We will use a mix method:the Fountain tool to track the points (articles will receive 1 point once all the judges vote for accepting it) and an additional point for any article about women in foklore.
- Commons photo contest about folklore in Italy focused on images about Italian culture. The sub contest has the same rules and criteria as the main one.
Judging criteria for media
[edit]- A good photo has a good story to tell.
- A good photo removes all unnecessary distractions from the chief element, so that the latter is not out of the focus.
- Potential usefulness and overall value of the image (including its licensing) to the Wikimedia projects.
- Technical quality – Image parameters such as focus, lighting, saturation, ISO etc. will be taken into consideration.
The jury will judge individual entries based on the following criteria:
- Technical quality
- Originality
- Potential usefulness and overall value of the image (including its licensing) to the Wikimedia projects.

- Deadline for submissions: February 28, 2021 23:59 (UTC)
- Results Declaration: Declared on April 14, 2021 at Women in Folklore Winners [Note:Result declaration is subject to changes and may be delayed subject to circumstances with pandemic.)
- Wikipedia contest: February 1 – March 31, 2021
- Writing articles: February 1st (00:01 UTC) to March 31st (23:59 UTC) 2021.
- Deadline for uploading entries to Fountain: March 31, 2021 11:59 PM UTC.
- Declaration of the winners: around April 14, 2021.
