Wiki Loves Living Heritage/Communications designer
Communications designer
As the Communications Designer, you will be responsible for creating the communications plan for the project in collaboration with the communications teams of the project partners and the advisors.
One part of the task is to define the language and approach used in the communication. You will set up the internal and external communication channels used to communicate the project. It includes setting up the social media accounts for promotion and project channels for planning. In choosing the channels it is important to pay attention to the multilingual and multicultural nature of the project.
The second part is creating a compelling visual identity for the campaign. You will make available localizable templates for communicating in different languages and platforms.
It is possible to apply for one part only.
The resulting communications guidelines will be provided as a report of this activity to the funder.
The task requires excellent skills in English and understanding communications in a multicultural environment. Additional world languages are an advantage.
You know the Wikimedia environment: the platforms and the communities well. You have worked with GLAM projects.
You are well-versed in explaining the benefits of open cultural heritage. You also understand the reasons for protecting culturally sensitive data and appreciate both values.
Time: February–March 2023. Task-based and remote.
The funding for this task will be confirmed by the end of January. The maximum amount to cover both tasks would be 5000 euros as remuneration, based on an individual daily rate. You may also propose to work only with visual design or communications design.
This task is directed towards European applicants.
