The power of Wikidata is best appreciated via querying it. This is done with a special language that looks scary but is actually not difficult to learn. This tutorial will teach you how to get quite complex questions answered by Wikidata, from the ground up, with no technical experience necessary. Basic familiarity with the Wikidata concepts -- Item, Property, Value -- is assumed.

How will this session be beneficial for the Turkic communities?

Being able to query Wikidata will help Turkic communities demonstrate the value of Wikidata to fellow community members and to partners.

Special requirements

A large screen would be ideal, as in this session I am demonstrating SPARQL code constantly, and people need to be able to read the details of the code.
