Abstract[edit]

This paper and presentation will focus on the featured article process, as it exists on the English Wikipedia. It will include a discussion of the purposes and philosophy of the featured articles, the history and evolution of the process, trends that are evolving and accompanying statistical analysis, and discussion of the best practices that have matured. Both the paper and presentation will be organized into past-present-future themes.
