Wikimania 2012/Bids/Washington, D.C./RFP

Working on behalf of: Wikimedia for Wikimania 2012, Washington, D.C.

This is your opportunity to support the world's free encyclopedia and related websites and services.

What we seek:

• A generous donor to provide event space for 600-1000 attendees.
• An opportunity to celebrate freedom of information, culture and the sharing of knowledge.
• A chance to gain international attention for your involvement with the Wikimedia Foundation.

As an educational institution and a steward of knowledge, we believe your venue would make an amazing venue for Wikimedia 2012. You'll be hosting people from all over the world with all levels of involvement and interest in Wikimedia and it's constituents.

Your venue would provide:

• A venue for meetings, gatherings and intellectual and cultural stimulation and awareness about Wikikmedia Foundation and it's involvement in the world.
• A special event venue for luncheons and perhaps a dinner.
• A presentation space for talks by major Wikipedians (such as the founder, Jimmy Wales), educators from your institution who are involved in Wikimedia outlets, as well as outside groups and organizations holding interest in Wikimedia.
