Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

Children are the future of any country, so their development is as important as the development of other assets. Immunization is an important part for the proper development of children. Vaccination is a simple, safe and effective process to protect against the most infectious diseases in the world by giving vaccines. Vaccinating the community with this treatment protects it against dangerous diseases. Vaccination plays an important role in children's lives as a measure to prevent health because it protects them against the most dangerous childhood diseases. Research has been done in Tanzania to see this big challenge.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Several motivations for vaccine hesitancy have been identified in the literature, including factors related to parental confidence in vaccination, satisfaction with vaccination and vaccination programs, and ease of access to vaccination. These drivers can affect parents' knowledge about vaccines, and vaccination programs, willingness to vaccinate. Without effective measures to remedy these drivers of parental vaccine hesitancy, children from reluctant families will remain vulnerable to preventable diseases. However, vaccine reluctance is a challenge. Parents' arguments vary greatly depending on factors such as religious, cultural, political, geographical or social context, type of vaccine and method of manipulation.

What did not work so well?Low immunization coverage against preventable childhood illness constitutes a major public health concern word wide. Among the problems encountered today in the expanded program on immunization (EPI) is the failure to reach an acceptable level of immunization coverage to the population. Global immunization coverage has increased during the past decide to levels of around 78% for DTP3.WHO'S African region has consistently fallen behind reaching only 69% DTP3 coverage by 2004. Complete childhood vaccination remain poor in sub Saharan Africa despite major improvement in childhood vaccination coverage worldwide. Complete basic childhood vaccination in East Africa was 69.21%. Estimated 5.3 million children under the age of five have died world wide the highest in Africa. In sub Saharan Africa particularly East Africa are more than 15 times more likely than children high income countries to die before the age of five due to lack of immunization, proper nutrition, clean water and food. In 2018 13.5 million children were not vaccinated worldwide. Underutilization of vaccines still remains a challenge in many regions across the world in Tanzania mbeya region at ileje district consistently low pentavalent3 vaccine uptake 69% and with drop out of 15%.
