Goals[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

As it was initially planned, the events organized in Macedonia as part of Wikimania 2022 were very successful and very productive in terms of share of ideas, new experience, learning new things and enriching the GLAM Macedonia's database with new ideas, potential projects and progeammes. Overall, GLAM Macedonia organized four events, one in Ohrid, one in Veles and two in Skopje (plus one more will be organized very soon). The number of participants that took part in the events was very good, the numbers were even better than what was initially expected. Each event was visited by more than 15 participants, of different age and vocational background, different ethnicities and regional local background. What is more important for us is that the events were visited by participants that are relatively new in the movement or not yet involved (yet to be trained and properly involved in the activities). That interest of the people to come and learn about Wikimedia Movement, its goal and projects was very satisfactory for GLAM Macedonia. The opportunity to learn new things, see how other communities manage to work and spread the ideas of the Movement was very useful and practical. Moreover, the presentations followed by the participants were a good basis for discussions on improving the existing GLAM Macedonia's activities and proposing new ones for enriching the organization's program.

Learning[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

What worked well?

The friendly mood during the events was exceptionally good. The equipment that was provided to the participants for smooth following Wikimania proved to be very useful so that every person had a chance to listed and see what was presented. The snacks, drinks and the appetizers that were offered facilitated the day-long following of the project. What's more important, what we are proud of, all participants were taking notes of the presentations, which served as idea proposals for improving GLAM Macedonia activities and projects.

What did not work so well?

So far, after organizing and having four events as part of Wikimania 2022 in Macedonia, there were no major difficulties. As it is common in such organized events, minor technical problems (such as stable Internet connection) do appear, but they were quickly resolved and the events ended smoothly and without any obstacles or problems.

What would you do differently next time?

Next time, Wikimania will be in-person event, so, we think the event will result with more success.
