What Wikimedia movement affiliate do you represent?

  • We do not have a movement affiliate. We would like to request for guidance on how to start one in Kenya to enable us participate in this.

How will the funding requested support your community’s participation at Wikimania?
Please review following eligible activities and expenses below, and write below any that will be included in your activities.

  • Childcare services (or similar family services) to support Wikimania participation
  • Data packages to distribute to Wikimania participants
  • Administrative or operational costs for to distribute funds to community members, such as transfer fees
  • Small hardware expenses to support access (such as webcams, microphones, head/earphones)
    Note: Requests for computers, laptops, tablets, and other personal devices are not eligible.
  • Translation services for a Wikimania session
  • Video production support for pre-recorded Wikimania sessions (such as equipment or space)
  • In-person meetups that coincide with Wikimania activities (food, beverage, meeting space)
  • Printed artwork, conference swag/merchandise for event participants
  • Data packages to distribute to Wikimania participants - We shall provide data to individual who will be participating, this will enable the event to be well marketed in all social media platforms. We intend to invite 40 participants
  • In-person meetups that coincide with Wikimania activities (food, beverage, meeting space)- We intend to have the event on Top of A helipad one of the most iconic builing in Kenya. We shall have a cocktail set up, with interaction and Music for the watch party. There will be food and drinks at this event.
  • Printed artwork, conference swag/merchandise for event participants - We intend to have flyers and social media activations to invite participants to the event. After the event, the participants will have souvenirs to carry home. This will be tshirts written Wikimania 2022.
