How will the funding requested support your community’s participation at Wikimania?
Please review following eligible activities and expenses below, and write below any that will be included in your activities.
- Childcare services (or similar family services) to support Wikimania participation
- Data packages to distribute to Wikimania participants
- Administrative or operational costs for to distribute funds to community members, such as transfer fees
- Small hardware expenses to support access (such as webcams, microphones, head/earphones)
- Note: Requests for computers, laptops, tablets, and other personal devices are not eligible.
- Translation services for a Wikimania session
- Video production support for pre-recorded Wikimania sessions (such as equipment or space)
- In-person meetups that coincide with Wikimania activities (food, beverage, meeting space)
- Printed artwork, conference swag/merchandise for event participants

Teniendo como contexto de Wikimanía 2022, deseamos organizar un evento local que tenga primordialmente tres objetivos: el fortalecimiento de lazos comunitarios, la creación de nuevas relaciones de compañerismo y apoyo mutuo y la difusión tanto de los contenidos como de la experiencia de la cumbre global del movimiento.
La comunidad de Wikimedia México se ha caracterizado por ser muy unida y participar en distintas actividades, con la pandemia y el confinamiento tuvimos que abandonar la interacción en persona, es por ello que planeamos estar juntas para compartir algunas sesiones de Wikimanía.
Las personas voluntarias del capítulo por lo general acuden a los eventos a prestar su conocimiento, tiempo y experiencia, pero pocas veces tienen oportunidades dedicadas a celebrar su propia identidad, pertenencia y a socializar en un contexto diferente del voluntariado con las personas que estima. Justamente Wikimanía es ese espacio en donde la comunidad global hace estos lazos dentro de esta experiencia.
El encuentro tendrá las siguientes actividades:
- El Café: actividades de integración comunitaria (dinámicas de participación e integración, juegos y espacios de fiesta)
- MiniWikimanía: actividades de compartición y discusión del conocimiento en el formato de Wikimanía (lightning talks, espacio de tributo a Wikimanía 2015 y trivia).
- Participación de la inauguración, clausura y charlas principales del evento mediante su transmisión y traducción en vivo.
Todo en un ambiente festivo, relajado e informal fuera de la Ciudad de México.

El encuentro se limitará a 20 personas seleccionadas por los siguientes criterios:
- Escribir una solicitud de participación exponiendo la motivación detrás de la asistencia
- Participar actívamente en los proyectos de la organización
- Haber postulado previamente en Wikimanía y/o haber participado en Wikimanía 2015
- Ser personas socias de Wikimedia México
La logística será llevada por el capítulo, por lo que no necesita apoyo para la distribución de fondos.
