Abstract (up to 100 words)

I will share with our experience about the contest organized by Wikimedia Polska in partnership with GLAM institutions. The contest was created in 2018 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Polish independence. The main idea was to improve quality of the existing Wikipedia articles connected with Poland, recognized to be the most important. The winners were chosen by an outside jury of scientists, activists, and people of culture.

How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of Central and Eastern Europe?

Other communities may be interested in organizing a similar contest.
