| Abstract:
Every Book Its Reader was a campaign organized in april this year by volunteers who work in libraries, involving different countries. Romania and Ukraine were the only countries in CEE participating in this project. Our purpose was to improve and develop the articles about books on Wikipedia. This was the first edition and our target for the future is to continue implementing original strategies and to involve more librarians in this project. This presentation will explore the contribution of librarians and their commitment to prove that working as a librarian in the XXIst century means more than the standard definition. By attending workshops and training programmes, the results were soon visible. In a digitalized society, with new technological progresses reached every hour, there is still one thing we must not forget: how to write a book, how to communicate an idea by mixing the old and the new. The slides will present the community of librarians editing Wikipedia step by step, as well as the notable results. |

| How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate the importance of organizing workshops and programmes for the librarians community. We wish to develop new methods and innovative approaches in editing articles, as a way of extending the professional profile of the librarian. The slides shall offer a larger perspective on how this project brought closer people with different cultural background and materialized into a long time collaboration beetween librarians all over Romania. Wikipedia is the future in our community and we have what it takes to improve the articles on this huge enciclopedia: books with reliable references. | |||
