Abstract:
For more than a decade, WMCZ has run a number of programs supporting local wiki photographers to obtain free images for Wikimedia projects. For example, almost all Czech villages have been photographed while supported within these programs. Recently, the programs have focused mainly on photographers illustrating Wikidata items, allowing us to engage a large number of diverse users, including newcomers. An integral part of the WMCZ programs is also supporting photographers responding to current events, such as during the South Moravian tornado that occurred in 2022. Thanks to WMCZ's support, photos from the very next day after the disaster are on Wikipedia. |
