Abstract:
Wikimedia Movement has a long history of run-ins with the Russian government, which became more acute after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I discuss an up-to-date history of Wikimedia projects in Russia, including recent forks and persecutions of the Belarusian wikimedians. |

How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
CEE will be more aware of the situation in Russia and Belarus and necessary precautions for any wikimedian as European governments put increasing pressure on the free knowledge movement. |
