| Abstract:
The application of the concept of sustainability to the Wikimedia movement has gained momentum with the numerous projects and events implemented over the past few years with the goal to raise awareness about topics such as sustainable development, climate change, environmental protection and energy efficiency. This lecture aims to make a review of all activities that intend to increase sustainability in the Wikimedia movement. Furthermore, it will present the current state in the CEE region compared to the most developed Wikimedia communities with regards to sustainability in order to identify areas of focus in which more effort is needed. |

| How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
The members of the CEE communities will learn about the projects and events in the Wikimedia movement that target sustainability-related topics, as well as some tips on how to adopt a sustainable approach for their future development. In addition, the presented insights may be useful for the CEE Hub to build and support region-wide joint initiatives aimed at ensuring greater sustainability. | |||
