| Abstract:
As per a 2018 study, about 60% of the technical contributions to the Wikimedia Foundation come from volunteers. In this talk, we will explore the Wikimedia ecosystem, technical areas, projects for new developers, and efforts to onboard them. The goal is to raise awareness about various opportunities, including Google Summer of Code and Outreachy programs with the Wikimedia Foundation, and to engage participants and volunteers, particularly new developers from the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region, with the technical spaces of the Wikimedia Foundation. |
