Venue

The Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2024 will take place at Müze Gazhane, located at the heart of Kadıköy neighborhood on the Asian side of Istanbul. Gazhane (the gashouse), originally built in 1892 as an industrial building producing gas for the city, now serves as a community space providing a venue for cultural events, meetings and festivals.

The venue, covering an area of 31,500 square meters in total, includes libraries, exhibition centers, theatre halls, a climate and cartoon museum, coffee houses.

For Scholarship Recipients

The conference scholarship recipients will be accommodated at the Holiday Inn İstanbul Kadıköy. Self-funded participants could also stay at the hotel. Please make sure that you tell the hotel that you are a Wikimedia CEE Meeting participant. Please also find some alternative hotels below.

All rooms have Wi-Fi, breakfast (07:00-10:00), and an isolated bathroom.

Check-in: from 14:00;
Check-out: by 12:00 at the latest.

Accommodation for Affiliate Delegates is funded by a WMF grant, and we are trying to keep expenses down. Please be aware that you must share a twin room. You can name someone (from Affiliate Delegates) you want to share the twin bedroom with during registration.

If you plan to add vacation nights to your stay, you must make your own hotel reservations for the extra days.
