Wikimedia Foundation board summary 2014

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

In 2014 the Board appointed a new Executive Director, Lila Tretikov. It passed new policies governing trademark, trademark of the "community logo," privacy, access to non-public information, and disclosure of paid editing.

It approved an Annual Plan and two rounds of recommendations from the Funds Dissemination Committee (FDC). It appointed Advisory Board members and four FDC members. It recognized Wikimedia Belgium.

Jan-Bart's term was extended a year beyond what was originally expected. Alice Wiegand's appointment to complete Ana Toni's unexpired term, and also to a new term, were both opposed by Frieda Brioschi. The process for Chapter nominations to the Board of Trustees outlined in the Bylaws was amended.
