Projects and activities

Educational projects

  • Two workshops and five lectures were held in front of students from different faculties in the country.
  • Wikimedia Macedonia and South East European University signed a cooperation agreement (26 April).
  • Certificates were awarded to the most prolific contributors in the project Macedonia on Wikipedia for 2011-12 (5 July).

Social media

  • Pages about the Macedonian Wikipedia and Wikimedia Macedonia on Facebook and Twitter were maintained throughout the year with significant increase in the number of followers.
  • Two members of Wikimedia Macedonia participated as guests in a talk show at Alfa TV (13 January).

Conferences

  • Brest and Kiril Simeonovski represented Wikimedia Macedonia at the Finance meeting in Paris (17-19 February).
  • Kiril Simeonovski represented Wikimedia Macedonia at the Open Wiki GLAM Serbia in Belgrade (24 February).
  • Brest and Slobodan Jakoski represented Wikimedia Macedonia at the Wikimedia Conference 2012 in Berlin (30 March-1 April).
  • Vasilka Dimitrovska represented Wikimedia Macedonia at Wikimania 2013 in Washington DC (12-15 July).
  • Brest represented Wikimedia Macedonia and Toni Ristovski represented the Macedonian-Wikipedia community at the Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2013 in Belgrade. Kiril Simeonovski was Programme manager of the conference and one of its organisers (13-14 October).

Meetups

  • Thirteen regular meetups were held during 2012.
  • The celebration of the 11th birthday of Wikipedia was held in Skopje and was attended by representatives of another NGOs from Macedonia and Hungary (15 January).
  • The 36th regular meetup was attended by representatives of Free Software Macedonia and saw a discussion on the further cooperation between the two NGOs (26 November).
