Vienna Office
[edit]WMAT has been finalizing the technical infrastructure in the recently established office in Vienna. In addition, new services such as carsharing for business/project trips have been introduced. Measures to establish a more regular communication with important stakeholders (donors, partners, public etc.) are being implemented and evaluated (e.g. regular postings on social networks, mailings). The closure of the 2012 grant is being prepared.
Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) Calendars
[edit]In addition to the international WLM calendars, WMAT produced it's own calendar editions (wall and desk calendars) featuring the Austrian awardees. The calendars were mailed to important stakeholders (e.g. project partners, GLAM institutions, donors) and will serve as give-aways for events and other occasions in 2013. In preparation of the mailing a lot of effort went into researching and updating the contact information of these stakeholders and recording them in WMAT's CiviCRM. In this way WMAT could consolidate it's core data, an important investment in future projects and communication strategies.
Wikivoyage
[edit]WMAT accompanied the launch of Wikivoyage with a press release and postings in social networks which resulted in substantial coverage in various Austrian media: http://mitglieder.wikimedia.at/Presse
Cooperation with the Office of the Federal Chancellor
[edit]In a first meeting with Mr. Tschabuschnig, a representative of the Office of the Federal Chancellor, possibilities and ideas for cooperation (e.g. events, workshops, exchange of know-how) in the field of open data were evaluated. The preliminarily results are now being discussed and elaborated with WP community. In addition, WMAT's managing director Claudia Garád was invited to join the jury of the Apps4Austria competition (http://www.digitales.oesterreich.gv.at/site/6497/Default.aspx), which is hosted by the Office of the Federal Chancellor.
WikiCup Give aways
[edit]WMAT will support this years' WikiCup again by offering rewards for the finalists of the last three rounds, as WikiCup is regarded as an quite effective tool to foster the generation of Wikipedia content. The first round will be awarded with special WMAT chocolate bars.
