Wikipedia 20 is the celebration of Wikipedia's 20th birthday by Wikimedia Spain.
Celebration with cultural institutions
In these years, the role of institutions with respect to Wikipedia has proven essential in the construction of this shared knowledge. In one way or another, they have contributed their experience, their materials, their enthusiasm and, as part of this movement for free knowledge, we want to thank them for their collaboration and make their work visible.
For that reason, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Wikipedia, virtually, on Friday, January 15th, 2021 at 11:00 am. The event will feature speeches by Teppo Tauriainen (Swedish ambassador to Spain), Carmen Marcos Alonso (deputy director of the National Archaeological Museum), Inés Rodríguez Hidalgo (director of the Valladolid Science Museum), Joaquín Díaz González (founder and main trustee of the Joaquín Díaz Foundation) and Elena Sánchez Nogales (head of the Digital Content Dissemination Service of the National Library).

Celebration with the community
The different communities that make up Wikipedia are an essential part of the free knowledge movement; their diversity, experience and vision are essential to make knowledge as diverse and egalitarian as possible. For this reason, we will celebrate with them the 20th anniversary of Wikipedia, virtually, on Friday, January 15th, 2021 at 6:30 pm. María Sefidari (president of the Wikimedia Foundation) and representatives of Wikipedia in Spanish, Galician, Asturian, Basque, Catalan and Wikimujeres will participate.

Next, we will have several thematic rooms related to Wikipedia and education, quality, gender gap, rural areas and misinformation, with the aim that people with the same interests comment, share and learn experiences related to each topic in an informal and festive atmosphere.
