If you think you Have What It Takes and are willing to work on difficult, sensitive, and at times hostile messages, you might just be what we're looking for:

Qualified volunteers should be:

  • Courteous
  • Skilled at resolving disputes
  • Friendly, even in the face of hostility
  • Sensitive to the needs of those outside Wikipedia
  • and have extraordinary discretion.

If you'd like to volunteer see OTRS/Info-en recruiting and make a new section like below and append it to this page:

====Username====
I'd like to help out on OTRS!

*'''Languages:''' I speak English, French, and Spanish
*'''User Page:''' [[en:User:Mindspillage]]

Thank you. ~~~~

Please note that OTRS is very selective, and considering the nature of the work, requires that we be familiar with you and your work on Wikimedia projects before accepting you as a volunteer. It may take some time before your request is replied to, please be patient.

I'd like to help out on OTRS!

Since i'm relatively new here, i would like to add a detailed statement. I am a sysop on Turkish Vikipedi and handling the copyright issues on a daily basis. I ask every contributor to make people send the permissions to info-tr@wikimedia.org (which is a much more reliable way due to legal risks) and since Özgür is the only one responsible for the info-tr section, i'd like to help him out with these permission mails.

As you can see from Interiot's editcount, i've sent 1882 messages in 4 months (i'd like to mention that i rarely send welcome messages). Most of them were comprehensive and informative (see an example), explaining the newbies how things work and informing the community about copyrights and policies.

An extra reason for my application is to use the account for promoting Turkish Vikipedi. We have been planning to activate the "School projects" program and i would like to use the official e-mail address for communication.

However i don't want to limit myself to info-tr. If possible, i would like to apply for both info-tr and info-en.

Thank you!

I'm up for this. OTRS is important, I reckon, and backlogs is bad. I have the trusty Wikimop should the need arise.

  • Languages: English, my French and German are insufficient for dealing with anything complex.

Gahh, I just discovered this page after contacting Mindspillage a few days ago. Anywho, I heard there was quite an OTRS backlog, and I'd be more than willing to help out. I'm an admin on enwiki and quite active there, and I'm slowly becoming more active on meta. On a regular daily basis I deal with many upset users, many legal threats, and many downwright disrespectful people, and over time I've become quite good at dealing with them. I'm currently pursuing a dual major in compsci and English/Pre-Law, thus I'm quite capable of dealing with both technical and legal inquiries. I'd primarily like to work on the queues info-en, info-de, permissions-en, and permissions-de, though I'm more than willing to lend a hand wherever it is needed.

  • Languages: I'm a native speaker of English, fluent in German, and minimally capable in Spanish and French.

I'd like to help out on OTRS too. I have been active on Wikimedia projects since February 2005, and a sysop on en.wikipedia since June 2005.

  • Languages: English, my ability with other languages is insufficient for dealing with others on OTRS.

We'd like to manage Slovak permissions and inquiries. Especially, we'd like to make this the official place for permissions. We're both active users and admins on Slovak Wikipedia.

I'd like to help out on OTRS (info-en or permissions queues). I've been interested in helping with OTRS for a while, so I thought I'd apply now. I'd like to help clear the backlogs.

  • Languages: I speak English and a little French (and some Latin, if that's ever neccesary)

While I am not an admin, I deal with trouble tickets of upset customers in my job every day. I am also able to converse in several languages and, after dealing with some issues touching on OTRS, thought it would be a good idea to apply.
