  • What experience do you have participating on committees, within or outside the Wikimedia movement?
    I have no experience participating in committees within wikimedia movement but I have always been the chair of sub committees within the Moore Wikimedia Community of which I lead. I chair roles as chairman of Jury committees to discuss how  to allocate marks to contributors and judging best editors in edit-a-thon contests and also event organization committees to organise training workshops and other events for our editors and members in general.  I chair the executive committee meetings and also sometimes double as secretary to take key notes of our agenda. Outside wikimedia community I was the Chief Executive Officer of ICT Institute in Tamale. I chair most of the institute committees including admission and examination commitees. Due to my hardwork and enormous contribution to the use of Microsoft tools in training, I was nominated as one of Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts - 2022 and so have contributed so much in training young people especially young girls in attaining basic ICT skills that would enable them solve basic problems in their daily lives. Currently, I provide basic IT consultation to  the District Education Directorate at Nanton of the Ghana Education Service and I am always part of committees formed to deliberate on ICT related issues
  • What skills, experience, or perspective would you bring or contribute to the committee, if appointed?
    Skills: Working in a committee requires a lot of skills that can foster oneness of purpose and zeal for every member of the community to enjoy working individually and as a unit. I am endowed with the following skills that can be brought on deck to enable the committee function effectively. Communication skills: I am able to communicate effectively with my working counterparts, both orally and in written form. I clearly articulate my ideas and opinions and listen respectfully to the ideas and opinions of others. Collaborative skills: I am able to associate collaboratively with others to achieve common goals. This involves being able to compromise, to build consensus, and to share ideas and resources. Problem-solving skills: I am able to think critically and creatively, and to evaluate different options. Decision-making skills: I am able to weigh evidence, consider different perspectives, and make choices that are in the best interests of the committee or organization as a whole. Leadership skills: I am able to set clear goals, to delegate tasks, and to provide support and encouragement. Experience: As an experienced wikimedian I have been  contributing to wikimedia projects like Wikidata, Commons and Wikipedia in three different languages (English, Dagbani, Moore). I organised my community members for projects and so  I believe I have a lot to offer if given this mandate. My experience in off-wiki committees has equipped me with strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive situations in a respectful and empathetic manner. Furthermore my perspective as a representative from an underrepresented language community can contribute to more inclusive decision-making and ensure that the voices of marginalized communities are heard. As a contribute of two different languages and for that matter two different culture and tribe,, I have a unique perspective on these group of people. I am able to see things from multiple perspectives and to understand different viewpoints. This perspective would be valuable in a committee setting, as it would allow me to help the committee reach consensus and make informed decisions. Overall, I believe that I would be a valuable asset to any committee. I have the skills, experience, and perspective that would allow me to make a significant contribution.
  • Is there any other pertinent information that you would like us to take into account when reviewing your application?
    I play a leading role in Moore Wikimedia Community that contributes to the Moore language which is lacing to exit from the incubator. Due to my experience and level of education (Masters of Education and Computer Science Diploma holder) I am highly trainable, a fast learner and can adapt to any mode of knowledge transfer that would enable me acquire the needed knowledge and skills to function perfectly wherever I am given the opportunity to work. I am a result oriented individual who works with time limits and always can work with minimal supervision due to my efficiency. I am also a team player and work collaboratively with my working partners to achieve organisational goals and objectives. My transferable skills and commitment to learning will enable me to contribute effectively to the committee.

  • What do you think are the benefits and responsibilities of functioning as formal affiliates, and when is a group of Wikimedians ready to form an affiliate?
    1. Recognition: Formal affiliates gain official recognition from the Wikimedia Foundation, which can enhance their credibility and visibility within the movement. 2. Access to Resources: Affiliates may be eligible for financial and in-kind support to aid in their activities and projects. 3. Collaboration: Affiliates can collaborate with other affiliates and Wikimedia entities, fostering cross-community partnerships and initiatives. 4. Governance: Affiliates have a voice in movement governance, contributing to decision-making processes and policies. 5. Advocacy: Affiliates can advocate for Wikimedia values and the movement's goals on a regional or thematic level. 6. Support and Mentorship: Affiliates can receive support and mentorship from experienced Wikimedia entities. Responsibilities: 1. Mission Alignment: Affiliates must align with the Wikimedia movement's mission and values. 2. Transparency: Affiliates are expected to maintain transparency in their activities, finances, and governance. 3. Documentation: Proper documentation and reporting of activities and finances are essential. 4. Sustainability: The group should demonstrate a commitment to long-term sustainability and impact in line with the Wikimedia movement's mission. 3.   • Please describe your experience working with conflict resolution, and how you have helped build consensus and support diversity.
    My experience working with conflict resolution is when I joined Non Violent Communication network - Ghana an NGO in 2018 that trains individuals and organisations on conflict management. The organisation rely on authors like Marshall B. Rosenberg among many Nonviolent Communication and conflict resolution preachers of conflict resolution. Its a training that focus on language of Life: Life-Changing Tools for Healthy Relationships. As a trainer in Nonviolent Communication, We consider love and recognition to be a very important need. These among all the basic needs of life are universal; everyone has the same ones. We all need love, but the ways in which we express it can be very different. I help  build consensus by helping to support diversity in conflicts mostly helping parties to see the need to all satisfy their basic needs and to ensure Win-Win strategy in conflict resolution. The problem starts when some of the conflicting parties are lying, consciously violating agreements, being uncollaborative, avoiding clear truth, being emotional to the point of losing their objective thinking, being too self-protective etc. I am endowed with the following skills which are very crucial in conflict resolution: Active Listening, Effective Communication, Empathy: Problem-Solving Skills, Emotional Intelligence,.Conflict Management Strategies, Collaboration and Teamwork, Respect and Open-Mindedness, Cultural Awareness and Assertiveness.
