Description[edit]
Gungbe Voices on Climate Change and Environment is a translate-a-thon and edit-a-thon to document and raise awareness about Climate change and Environment on the Gungbe Wikipedia. Convincing as many people as possible that the climate change and environment is the most important issue of our time, is the only way to solve the issue of climate crisis. And since for that to happen, communication and appropiate language is the key tool, everybody should be able to have such information in their language. This event will make such information available in gungbe language through Gungbe Wikipedia.

We will organise 2 translate-a-thon and edit-a-thon (One in Lagos and the other in Porto-Novo) to create and translate articles about climate change and Africa environment by engaging members of the Gungbe Wikimedians User Group. List of articles to be translated will be prepared and we will make use of Fountain tool and outreach dashboard to track contributions.
Team[edit]
- The people involved are:
- Samatics (Organiser, coordinator and events facilitator): Founder of Gungbe Wikimedians User Group and a sysop on guwwiki. He has organised several trainings/edit-a-thon and writing contests. He will organise the events.
- Ydamilola (Events facilitator and jury): She is an active member of Gungbe Wikimedians User Group and has experience in contributing to projects in Gungbe. She has served as jury in contests in the past. She will serve as one of the facilitators at the events and serve as jury for the writing contests.
- Gadarawamo (Events facilitator): active member of Gungbe Wikimedians User Group and an experienced contributor to guwwiki. He will serve as one of the facilitator and help with logistics.
- The project is requested on behalf of an affiliated user group (Gungbe Wikimedians User Group)
- The fund will be transferred to an individual (Samatics) bank account
