The context for this module is that we want to introduce you to the large variety of ways that one can contribute to the Wikimedia mission, which is creating and sharing free knowledge. There's many, many different ways you can contribute, and I hope that at least some of the ways we will show today will be new to you, and I hope that some of them will be inspiring to you, and that you may choose to pursue them or tell other people about them. But the point is that there are these many other ways of contributing to the creation and sharing of free knowledge over and beyond writing encyclopedic articles on Wikipedia, which is a way that you're probably already aware of.

So that's what this module will be about after the previous module, which was an introductory module talking about the attitudes and principles of collaborating on wiki in general, and was full of good advice. So again, if you haven't watched or attended it, please do watch that recording. But this module will focus on all these other ways of contributing, whereas modules three and four are going to focus on two of the core policies needed for writing encyclopedic articles on Wikipedia, namely Neutral Point of View and Verifiability.

This module today, module number two, is going to be an opportunity, a set of windows that we're going to look through, to see other kinds of contributions. And for each such method of contribution, we'll try to give you at least a few next steps using links. But after this module we will focus on encyclopedic writing on Wikipedia, which is probably what most of you are interested in. This module is here for those of you who may be interested in other ways as well.
