Purpose of the Event/Activity
[edit]- Cleanup and improvement of articles, which were created by school teachers of Tamil Nadu in the year 2017. Remaining articles to be handled = 340. The objective of this event is to bring active users together and 'finishing touches' on the major task.
- Our target is to finish the two-year-long drive in the month of July 2024. In-person meet will be helpful to take immediate decision through group discussions or guidance from colleagues.

Expected Outcomes from the Event/Activity planned
[edit]- Each participant will handle 24 articles during the event. Hence, total number of articles will be handled is 240.
- The users, who will not be able to attend the in-person Edit-a-thon, will contribute online on that day. This information will be announced in the project page and in Village Pump page as well.

[edit]- As mentioned in the 'expected outcomes' section, 240 articles out of 340 articles will be handled during the event. Remaining 100 articles will be handled online during next two weeks. The entire project will be closed before 31-July-2024 with a retrospective report

Status
[edit]CIS-A2K is collaborating with Tamil community users User:Selvasivagurunathan m, User:Neechalkaran, User:Sridhar G, and their team. This collaboration extends beyond this project, as A2K is also working with organizers and the team to plan an improve-a-thon for other Indian communities at the national level. Report
[edit]A group of 14 users, including 4 students, participated in person.
Inaugural speech was delivered by Dr. Sobha. L, Program Director, AU-KBC Research Centre. Neechalkaran provided a speech on possible collaboration with AU-KBC Research Centre. M. Selvasivagurunathan explained the purpose of the Edit-a-thon event.
After the inaugural meeting, participants started working on the articles for curation and improvements. Participants discussed and took decision whenever required. The event was ended at 5 pm.
3 active users participated online during the event day. Below graph shows the performance by users in this special month.
