The term castle jumper comes from the observation that some people like to build castles, while others seem to take pleasure in destroying them. Perhaps this is a way of identifying themselves with a work of excellence. Or perhaps they simply have no concern for loss of the work. Favoring only the pleasure of the moment's thrill ---"the thrill of delete".

It is suggested that deletionists have this trait in that they simply prefer to omit rather than allow others to enjoy.

This sandcastle phenomenon is particularly salient to turn of the millennium wikis because the erosion problem makes constant effort necessary to maintain good texts in multi user forums.

It is an important open question how to best to limit the entropic process imposed by castle jumpers.
