Commons Categories for Discussion tools
- Problem: It's a lot of manual work to close category discussions at Commons:Categories for discussion. After closing the discussion and likely taking some action (manually deleting or moving a category), the closing admin needs to manually remove the notification tag (Commons:Template:Category for discussion) from the category page and manually link the discussion on the talk page of the discussion page. Each month, new headers need to be manually added to a new CfD page, and the Commons:Template:CFD month header needs to be manually updated. Note that this is not a small amount of work, because there are an almost uncountable number of open discussions at Commons:Categories for discussion (dating back to 2015) that will need to be closed.
- Proposed solution: Some combination of bot and tools that can help with the manual efforts described above.
- Who would benefit: Admins would benefit from saved labour. Users would benefit because CfDs would likely be closed at least a little sooner.

Does c:Help:Gadget-DelReqHandler already do this? If not, maybe it could be extended include this functionality. -FASTILY 07:06, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Fastily, I think the tool is c:user:BMacZero/AjaxCfdClose.js. I don't think we need to include a project-specific feature into a MW extension, especially if the functionality already exists. ~~~~
