Deoband Community Wikimedia/Events/Deoband Meet June 2022
The June 2022 Deoband Meet was the second offline meet-up of the DCW volunteers that took place in Deoband. Primary focus was given to a long-time collaborative project offered by Yoruba Wikimedians User Group, in which YWUG volunteers will aid us in adding information and knowledge related to global Deobandi scholarship on Yoruba Wikipedia.
It was also discussed to collaborate with Arabic Wikipedia's Wikipedian Editor Project. In this, a nice quality content and information on Arabic Wikipedia shall be improved and created by our volunteers who know Arabic. Urdu Wikipedia and Hindi Wikipedia continue to remain the DCW's primary focus.
A photo-walk event has been scheduled to happen in November 2022 in Bhopal. Bhopal has had historical connections with the Deoband seminary and there are a plethora of Deobandi institutes there. The photo-walk event would allow us to include nice quality images on the Wikimedia Commons.
