As part of our training program with Librarians, we organized sessions on Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata on March 23.

For Wikimedia Commons, each participant had the opportunity to upload their own images using their own account. This enabled them to understand the upload process and the rules associated with contributing multimedia content to Wikimedia Commons.

As for Wikidata, we presented a list of several well-known African writers who didn't have a page on Wikidata. Participants worked on adding these writers by creating new Wikidata elements for each of them. This enabled them to understand how Wikidata works and the importance of having African personalities in this database.

These activities were beneficial for the participants, enabling them to strengthen their skills in contributing to Wikimedia projects and increasing the visibility of African content.
