In Rwanda land users are in permanent competition and conflicts mainly based on the high density (National land use master plan 2020-2050)[1] but also based on lack of proper information on their rights as stipulated in the law No 04/2013 related to access to information. It has become apparent that people are facing the problem of land and land use, where most of the disputes in the courts are based on land use, which is mainly due to ignorance of the laws governing land, not reading and not knowing the laws defending them. In this project, we will focus on understanding land use laws with the help of legal experts and writing articles about land use, housing, wetlands, and forests.
To address this challenge, the following strategies would be adopted:
- Build a community of knowledge experts to contribute to land use rights, laws, practices and conservation in Rwanda on Wikimedia projects
- Empower local participants' with knowledge for contributing land use rights, laws, practices, impacts and conservation content to Wikimedia projects.
- Create knowledge about land use rights, laws, practices, impacts and conservation in English and Kinyarwanda languages.
- Build knowledge of participants and the public about Rwanda local plant and animal species on Wikidata in Kinyarwanda language.
