Eligibility[edit]

Individuals who are not affiliate representatives should submit their applications through the application form

Criteria[edit]

Please indicate what you wish to;

  • contribute by attending
  • achieve as result of attending
    • both personally;
    • and by sharing your skills

Criteria for refusal[edit]

Failure to have complied with any of the conditions can result in you application be decline. WMAU also reserves the right to remove certain people due to their conduct on/off-wiki, UCoC and WMAU Safe Space policy apply to this event.

  1. The applicant received a scholarship for Wikicon Australia 2023 (in Brisbane) but did not complete their post-conference report(s) before the due date
  2. The applicant is a current or past grantee from any WMF Grant program and has been found to be non-compliant.
  3. The applicant is currently globally blocked by the Wikimedia Foundation or the community.
  4. The applicant has failed to demonstrate any significant Wikimedia contributions or activities which may merit the awarding of a scholarship.
  5. The application is empty.
  6. The application consists of content which is off-topic or abusive.
  7. The applicant has failed to make a reasonable effort to answer the questions on the application form.

Are the scholarships only for Wikicon Australia 2024 participants?

Individuals are able to apply regardless of their affiliate membership status.

If I can't attend Wikicon Australia 2024 in person, how can I participate?

There may be an option to join virtually as the event may be a hybrid event.
