Friendly Space Policy
GLAM Macedonia’s events are organized in the manner of good communication, cooperation and creativity. In this sense, good intention of all participants is assumed in creating a friendly space.
At venues where GLAM Macedonia organizes the events of the association, harassment is prohibited on any ground, including but not limited to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, physical appearance, age, racial, ethnic or national affiliation and political or religious definition. GLAM Macedonia will not tolerate any form of harassment or violence against participants of the events which are organized by the association. A vulgar remarks are not appropriate in any space at events or meetings. All participants who violate the rules will be sanctioned or removed from the event at the discretion of the event organizers.
Harassment includes but is not limited to verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, physical appearance, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, political affiliation or religion. Harassment also involves showing vulgar images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, persecution, unwanted surveillance, disturbing photography or recording, constant interruption of conversations or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwanted sexual attention. Participants are expected to immediately discontinue this behavior after a warning.
If a participant harasses other visitors of the event, organizers may take appropriate actions that involve alerting the perpetrator or their removing from the event. If any of the participants notice any form of harassment, it is necessary to inform the organizers immediately. Organizers can carry signs to make them recognizable.
The organizers will help the participants to contact the security of the accommodation or the venue or the police. Organizers will, as much as possible, provide escort to the participants or help them otherwise to make them feel safe during the event. GLAM Macedonia appreciates and respects the presence and participation of volunteers and associates in events.
Participants of the events will be provided with the telephone numbers of the organizers, security of the accommodation or the venue, police, ambulance and local taxi companies.
Participants of GLAM Macedonia events are obliged to follow the rules laid down by this policy.
