This Programs Evaluation report aims to provide the Wikimedia community with a look at data collected on community-run volunteer outreach programs implemented around the world. This enables us to identify opportunities to further support the community with program evaluation and design. We invite readers to contribute by commenting, discussing, and exploring the data.
Four main goals
The report includes data from the voluntary data collection survey, in addition to data pulled from grants reporting and linked event pages, blogs or supplemental reporting, as well as online tools that are also available to the community (commonly referred to data mined).
The goals of this report are:
To develop a clearer understanding of Wikimedia volunteer outreach programs and their impacts.
To identify positive examples of programs to explore more deeply in order to develop shared best practices and program support networks across communities
To help Wikimedia community leaders explore methods for improving the data collection and reporting of their programs.
To highlight key lessons learned that can be applied to data collection and reporting! We want to support program leaders to make evaluation and learning easy and fun.
