Project idea[edit]

What is the problem you're trying to solve?[edit]

The interface is too complex. Many people have articles information that they want to share but it is not easy to submit articles on Wikipedia.

What is your solution?[edit]

If the interface can be changed and simplified, it would be great help to users.

Project goals[edit]

More number of people will be able to submit articles and knowledgeable stuff on Wikipedia.

Get involved[edit]

Participants[edit]

  • Developer As a developer, it is my duty to bring the best functionality to designs useful for users, just like me. There is a lot to refine in Wikipedia's interface, so it won't be overwhelming for starters and strangers to the site.

I suggest the final interface should also conform to the existing interface adapted by Wikipedia for Android and iOS, to create a unified Wikipedia experience for all devices. Why the interface for the Wikipedia app? I, as a user personally, believe that the progress done for the application, in terms of the interface, It creates an easy experience for all Wikipedia users, and that is where we want to end up as well. Almost every type of social media with a large audience is taking efforts to create a uniform atmosphere for all users, on all devices available. I believe Wikipedia, being the sixth most visited site in the Internet as mentioned in Jimmy Wales' statement for WikiMedia Foundation fundraising, (correct me if I am wrong), should take the same move to keep up with the next generation of Internet users. Project plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Simplify the process of submitting material on Wikipedia. Change the interface. It will take me 30 days time to get it done. The whole process will become smooth and easy for the users.

Budget[edit]

Project Manager : 200000 USD

Community engagement[edit]

We will float survey to the user and non users before starting the project to know the response. There will be testing of the new interface twice in the process. A testing interface will be available online for 30 days period and then completed interface will be available. There will be a user survey floated again.

Sustainability[edit]

The interface will be within the budget and there are few more plans that we have but will like to talk about it later.

Measures of success[edit]

regular feedback from the users and weekly survey. it will be on test for 30 days . Users will like it for sure and it will be a success.
