Project idea

[edit]

What is the problem you're trying to solve?

[edit]

Book Authors are very often the most knowledgeable people on topics they wrote about, and should be important targets for finding good wikipedia authors. Most knowledge in the world nowadays is produced by Book Authors, in any field of knowledge, but they are almost forced not to contribute, being tagged as "spammers" or "self-promoting", when extracting some of their knowledge from a book they wrote, to insert it into a relevant voice. This is a form of castration of the potential of Wikpedia. Being a book writer, I experienced it many many times, become practically unable to contribute on fields in which I am really knowledgeable and sometimes one of the top experts (e.g, Intercultural Negotiation, and others). I think this current situation blocks the advancement of the core mission of wikipedia.

What is your solution?

[edit]

Create a special program for Book Writers, in which Book Writers (manuals, scientific, and so on) are encouraged to contribute.
